Emerging from her usual role as the alto in the harmony sandwich (Blindman’s Holiday, Touchwood), and a big year of folklore in harmony as the 09-10 Folk Fellowship recipient, Christina offers up eleven original songs on her new album Rumours of Summer. The songs are all evocative of a time and place that is part-social landscape and perhaps part-imaginings. The band features a stellar line-up including Sandy Evans, Brett Hirst, Jess Ciampa, Chloe Roweth, Peter Miller-Robinson, and a mysterious male choir known as the Dark Sea Chorus. Music starts at 8.30 with a set from deliciously quirky Gramophone Man spinning the hits of the 1920s (or however you describe yourself).
