Hatched is the first in a series of compelling and magical fairytales about The Grimstone Family. This sensational sell-out children’s show comes to the Theatre, The Concourse in November.
There is a girl who reads dreams, a baby boy with three legs, a mother who sews garments lined with warmth and joy, and a grandfather who heals people with his magical concoctions.
Intricate old-world marionettes, giant books and sign language combine in a critically acclaimed gothic fairytale.
Those who enjoy Harry Potter, Edward Scissorhands or The Addams Family will love The Grimstones.
‘This is a superb fantasy tale, beautifully performed and artfully created. The Grimstones - Hatched is a must see,’ says Jade Wildy at Arts Hub.
Hatched celebrates the wonder of books, the acceptance of difference, family love and the simple pleasures of life. The story is told with giant books, old-world marionettes and sign language. Gertrude Grimstone (Asphyxia) and her assistant August (Paula Dowse), the delightful storytellers and puppeteers, interact with the puppets and have their own role to play in The Grimstones fairytale.
