Indulge in the ambient at Half Time with Guerre, Moon Holiday, Gnome and Lanterns and Astral DJs.

On Saturday the 15th of December come along to The Standard and witness the forefront talent of Sydney's experimental beats movement. Featuring the likes of Guerre, Moon Holiday, Gnome and Lanterns, this night will fill your mind with dream-like soundscapes and leave your body nodding to electronic beats.

Headlining this occasion is Guerre. Born out of necessity, a necessity to survive in foreign surroundings while his world collapsed around him, a world where creativity and chaos ruled. This is where Guerre began, in the depths of Sydney's experimental beats movement. Since the release of his debut EP, Guerre has had a busy year. He's supported Sepelcure, Toro Y Moi, Washed Out, Bonobo, LA Vampires, Balam Acab, WU LYF and plenty more. He also collaborated with Collarbones on their recent single Hypothermia and last month released his own new single 'Rashad (Loose Pace). Looking forward, 2013 will see the release of something much more substantial, yet unexpected.

Moon Holiday is the solo electronic project of Alex Ward, winner of FBi's Northern Lights competition, who's spent the last couple of years honing her moody electronic sound - partly inspired by growing up in Hong Kong. She delivers a haunting vocal performance backlit by her own glacial production. She's also collaborated with Flume and performed with Karen O from the Yeah Yeah Yeah's at Vivid Live.

First up on the night is Sydney based producer Lanterns (Ross James of Young Romantics). His creation of dreamy folk that takes its listener on a continuous journey has likened him to a mixture of Oliver Tank and Thom Yorke's solo output. His most recent single 'Gluestick', a dream-folk adventure in displaying affection that is certain to make anyone smile, saw Lanterns as a winner of FBi's 'Northern Lights' contest. Lanterns have turned heads with his debut EP in early 2012.

Also on the cards is the sibling duo, collectively known as Gnome. Freya Berkhout, formerly one half of Sydney experimental pop outfit kyü, has embarked on a new project with her brother, Elias. Gnome create their music utilising a fusion of their interest in classical and world musics as well as a passion for electronic, glitchy sonics. They have been described as a blend of Sufjan Stevens, The Knife and Brian Eno. Both are multi-instrumentalists, as well as accomplished vocalists, creating unique, inventive yet accessible pop. Having recently won the Sydney Festival Soundtrack competition for 2013, Gnome will soon release their debut EP, See In Walk.
