Surfers Paradise Beach this year plays host to Round 4 of the Kellogg's Nutri-Grain IronMan Series, one of the world's most grueling physical contests.
Sports Entertainment Limited (SEL), Surf Life Saving Australia (SLSA), and former Ironman champion Guy Leech have joined forces for the third consecutive year to deliver the world-class Kellogg's Nutri-Grain IronMan series and IronWoman series.
Featuring the best athletes across Australia, the 2012/13 Kellogg's Nutri-Grain IronMan Series and IronWoman Series, considered the pinnacle event on the surf life saving and sporting events calendar, will kick off in Perth on December 23, followed by Newcastle with the series culminating on Queensland's Sunshine Coast.
The series will feature the best 17 Kellogg's Nutri-Grain IronMen and 18 IronWomenin the nation including superstars Shannon Eckstein, Ky Hurst, Alastair Day, Matt Poole, Courtney Hancock and Kristyl Smith. Naomi Flood (Floody) will also be back in the water after returning from the Olympics.
Athletes will be racing for more than $400,000 in prize money over traditionally popular formats that will test endurance, power, skill and speed.
