Russell Peters Notorious World Tour has been setting sales and attendance records around the world since the launch of the tour in Muscat in March 2012. The tour has become the highest attended comedy show in the history of Oman, the United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, South Africa, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and his home country of Canada – with audiences between 3,000 to 16,000 fans attending the shows. In Dubai, Peters was the fastest selling concert in the history of the Emirate – outselling Madonna. On November 10th, Peters became the first comedian to play Brooklyn’s new Barclays Center. Over 10,000 fans attended the show, making it the largest comedy show ever in the history of the New York City borough.
The Notorious World Tour features all new material from the Brampton, Ontario raised comic. “I’ve been working on the new act since last year and building and developing the new material in clubs across the States,” says Peters. The new material has been met with rave reviews from Peters rabid fans around the world. “It’s been great being back on‐stage and back on the road again.” Peters’ last special, The Green Card Tour LIVE From the O2 Arena, was recorded in London in 2010. The special was broadcast on Showtime, Comedy Central and Netflix. In 2010, Peters set an attendance record for the biggest single comedy audience in Australia, when over 13,000 fans attended his show at Sydney’s Acer Arena.
The Notorious World Tour will feature Russell's Official Tour DJ's, Toronto's DJ Starting from Scratch and New York City's DJ Spinbad, as well as video cameras and screens for an up‐close and intimate show, which will capture Peters’ signature audience improv in an arena setting. Starting in 2008, Peters was one of the first stand‐up comedians to self‐finance, self‐produce and distribute his own comedy specials and DVD’s, with Red, White and Brown and 2011’s, The Green Card Tour live from the O2 Arena. The DVD’s went on to sell over 250,000 units across North America. Peters is currently developing original programming for Netflix.
Russell Peters has spent the past 23 years building a career to become one of the biggest comics in the world. Thanks to YouTube and a global following, Peters has sold‐out arenas from Madison Square Garden to the Sydney Opera House. Peters has also performed for the troops in Afghanistan, Iraq and on the USS Eisenhower and HMCS Winnipeg, and appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Lopez Tonight, Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson and on HBO, CNN, MTV, BBC and Al Jazeera. Peters 2010 memoir, Call Me Russell was a Globe and Mail number one bestseller in Canada was just released in the US. Peters was recently seen in the movies, Source Code and the 2011 highest grossing English language film in Canada, the Punjabi‐Canadian ice hockey film, Breakaway (titled Speedy Singhs in the UK). He can also be seen in Girl in Progress with Eva Mendes.
