Did you know the largest age group on the Sunshine Coast was 45 to 49 year olds? Many of these residents are dealing with arthritis on a daily basis.
During Arthritis Awareness Week (28 March) Dave Witmer, market stallholder at The Big Pineapple Markets, will give talks on the treatment of arthritis pain and provide demonstrations.
Dave says arthritis affects joints, muscles and connective tissues of the body. The word ‘arthritis’ means literally ‘inflammation of the joint’.
He says the good news is that you can learn ways to manage your pain. And will display how on Saturday morning.
Visitors to The Big Pineapple Markets will also appreciate pineapple parfaits, fresh fruit juices, international cuisine and farmers’ produce, as well as enjoying cool breezes on the large, pram-friendly deck, overlooking the pineapple plantation.
The heritage-listed Big Pineapple nestling on 165 hectares, at 76 Nambour Connection Rd, Woombye, which officially opened in mid-August in 1971, has been providing healthy family and tourist entertainment for more than four decades.
The Saturday markets are held from 6.30am to 1pm during the summer months and from 6.30am to 2pm in the cooler months of the year.
