Claremont Quarter will come alive this June with a range of robot activities, held in partnership with Barking Gecko Theatre.
Designed to ignite curiosity and allow kids to develop their engineering skills, workshop participants will also design and build a LEGO compatible Edison Robot battle suit, then test their designs in an epic robot battle. Children will learn how robots understand and navigate the world around them, be introduced to programmatic thinking and the foundations of computer programming.
The Build and Battle Robotic Workshops are inspired by Barking Gecko Theatre’s upcoming ‘My Robot’ play in the July school holidays, a story about the power of friendship that illustrates the similarities between humans and robots: that we are all made up of different experiences and parts that makes each person unique.
Build and Battle Robotic Workshops will run on 8, 9, 15 and 16 June. Three workshops daily commencing at 11am, 12pm and 1pm.
Bookings essential as placements are limited. Children aged from 6 to 12 are invited to participate.
