McKenzie's Auctioneers anticipated May auction will feature well-known artists such as Arthur Streeton, Robert Juniper, William Boissevain, Robert Dickerson, Hans Heysen, John Campbell, Lloyd Rees, Elizabeth Durack, and Charles Blackman.

However, the highlights are two historical and unique pieces from Western Australian. A valuable 1942 unpublished illustrated manuscript by the Durack sisters titled ‘Piccaninny Story Time’ and rare painting by John Paterson Campbell ‘The Shamrock Hotel’ depicting Central Hay Street in 1919.

Also, jewellery collectors won’t be disappointed either, as there will be over 150 modern, vintage and antique pieces on offer. Diamonds are once again a girl’s best friend with the big showcase statement a Verdura diamond and gold constellation bangle with an estimated price of $23000–
$35000. A similar bangle was originally made for Minnie Astor, a famous American socialite, philanthropist and patron of the arts. Verdura also collaborated in jewellery design with Coco Chanel.

Other show stoppers include a tanzanite and diamond bracelet and a Columbian emerald and diamond ring. Collectors will be delighted by the interesting antique furniture and collectables, including a pair of Han Dynasty Chinese kneeling court figures and a major Carlton ware Persian pattern lidded vase.

Pre-auction viewings will take place from 11am to 4pm on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th May with viewing on Monday 13th May from 10am to 5:30pm.
