Voudou Zazou – Time To Swing

The 20s and 30s were an iconic time for music. Jazz had burst onto the world stage, the Charleston was all the rage and Django Reinhardt ruled the Paris night clubs. This is the vibrant era that excites Perth-based quartet Voudou Zazou. With a name inspired by the sharply-dressed French jazz fans, their repertoire takes you to a time when jazz was fun, with exciting arrangements of classic jazz, gypsy swing and traditional French numbers, alongside the band’s own authentic originals.

Following a whirlwind summer, with sell-out shows at the Ellington, their Fringe debut at His Majesty’s Theatre and feature performances at WA’s inaugural Gypsy Jazz Festival, Voudou Zazou are thrilled to be back in Perth’s best jazz room, the Ellington.

The sparkling vocals of Coo Jarvis are backed by guitar (Andy Jarvis), accordion (Mark Wearing), double bass (Sid Hennessy) and special guest Ronniet Orlando on violin. This swinging ensemble is guaranteed to get your feet tapping and bring a smile to your face—and long time collaborator Vivian Marlowe once again contributes some delightful dance and comedy routines to the show.
