Northey Street City Farm will celebrate the Winter Solstice.

The Northey Street City Farm has celebrated the longest night of the year, every year, for the past two decades with an annual festival of live music, dancing, talks and workshops for all ages, yummy food, a lantern parade and of course a mesmerising bonfire.

The festival will be zero waste again this year, with all the food and drink stalls not handing out any single use items. To help make this possible, it’s encourage all guests please bring their own water bottle/keeper cup/plate/bowl/cutlery.

What to expect:
- The main stage will host a range of live music with local band Tin Star, singer songwriter Mark Moroney, the funky Formidable Vegetable Sound System, and Sunny Coast band Bearfoot rocking out some fine beats to groove to.
- A community jam with over 50 African drums and some high energy African Dancing. The education precinct (talks and workshops) will have a focus on sustainable living—from Micro Gardening and Ethical Investment, to ideas on how to retrofit suburbia and how to create more opportunities for kids to play in nature.
- The Family Space will run all afternoon with loads of Earth Arts and Upcycled Art activities for the kids and teens, lantern making workshops and opportunities for the kids to build forts and play games while mum and dad chill out on the grass.
- The Solstice Ceremony, Lantern Parade and Bonfire will kick off after sunset, so the kids can join in the fun.

There will be something for everybody at this great annual event!
