Due to overwhelming community support, the Friends of ANZAC Cottage Inc is proud to announce a series of “ANZAC Afternoons”. The first of these afternoons, will acknowledge Women’s History Month with the theme of “Nurses: Angels in Adversity”. Talks and displays will focus on the crucial role played by nurses in wartime, exploring the difficulties they faced and how their service impacted on their lives.
Talks will be complemented by displays of medical equipment, uniforms past and present and photographs. Children are welcome and will enjoy a number of interactive activities to experience ‘being a nurse’. There will also be a short talk on the intriguing relationship between Castellorizian House and ANZAC Cottage.
Entry is free and afternoon tea will be available for a gold coin donation. Attendees are advised to find parking on Britannia Reserve, one block away from the House. For more information please call Anne on 0411 44 55 82 or email: chapan@highway1.com.au.
