Multi-media artist, photographer and published author of eight books, this is Penny Reilly’s third gallery exhibition, the first being, "In Stillness" in February 2018, when she launched her own, small gallery, Beyond the Gate and the second, "Water, Stone, Spirit and Bone" showing just seven pieces of this extensive collection in Kyneton.

Penny lives near Daylesford, where she works from her home studio on a rural, 20-acre property. A full-time artist and author, she works with multi-media, (digital painting non-photographic and partially photographic), ink, water colour, charcoal and mixed-media/fine art, combined. She studied art and art history in the UK, completed a visual arts and professional photography course locally, and produces a seamless palette of multi-media pieces that has the viewer wondering how they were rendered. Her work is inspired by her natural surrounds and by nature. Her current collection, In Stillness and Other Worlds, like all her works, speaks to the fragility of our planet and the rapid loss of species and natural habitats. Over thirty or more pieces will be shown in this “one woman show” at The Old Auction House in Kyneton in 2020, from 18th June to 6th July.

In Stillness has been recently released as a full-colour art book with accompanying poetry and will be for sale at the exhibit.

Alongside her original canvases or cotton rag paintings, she produces limited edition prints and note cards and is available for commissions. Her next project, an oracle deck and book, entitled Wild Spirits, will be published early 2021.
