Deb has been meandering around the music traps of Brisbane since the late 90’s when she started her first band – Brindle. She then went on to record albums as The Peachfish and Lucy star Satellite with her long term partner Craig Spann.
The past years have seen Deb involved deeply with community songwriting projects – The Soldier’s Wife, Big Sky Girls - and working on building awareness through music about domestic and sexual violence within the industry through noton and You Can’t Take Me. The impact of meeting so many people in these projects and hearing so many stories has given Deb the inspiration to finally record her first solo album which is due for release in 2021.
Raw, emotive, confronting and passionate and occasionally hilarious – Deb’s songs explore not only her own personal journey but stories of people she has met along the way and the impact that music and songs make on us. Deb will be performing a rare solo show at Can You Keep A Secret on Sunday November 15 with some special friends to hold her hand. Maybe bring a tissue.
Can you keep a secret are so proud to present Deb Suckling in our beautiful bar where her songs will resonate with our audience so well.
