Community Mandala Creation

Derek Sandy will offer guests a welcome and solo Didgeridoo performance to respect and acknowledge First Nations Communities and sacred land.

The Summer Solstice Ceremony will include a cacao and ecstatic dance ritual by Adrian Mornay to a fusion of world music, electronica, dubstep, tribal house, classic remixes and more.

This will be followed by Zormiwasa African Drumming performance, will perform a Bana Kuma, a collection of powerful rhythms designed to take the dancer on a journey through the elements of air, fire, water and Earth. More than 50 hands playing African drums in unison and directed by Elliot Orr, this will be an amazing display of community expressed through rhythm.

Then Helly Hoops will throw a stunning LED hoop show featuring crazy balance tricks, mind-bending speed and 5-hoop magic and Kairos Kin will end the evening with a Summer Solstice celebratory performance drawing on a range of genres including dub, hip-hop, rap, electronica & dance.

All night there will be Free Earth Arts nature play for the kids, the making of a community mandala, and you can write your personal affirmations or calls for environmental action to the tree of life to mark the transition of the Sun from the longest day of the year.

Enjoy the free permaculture workshops, enjoy some delicious organic food, including Na Pizzetta authentic Italian organic pizza and locally sourced organic food from Bond Street Eats, and iced cool beverages from the Nursery Jungle bar to enjoy in a relaxed cabaret setting under the fig trees with your family.

Funds raised from the bar and event go to Northey Street City Farm, a not for profit community permaculture garden, whose mission is for all to live sustainably.

We are capping numbers at 250 to make this a boutique cabaret and you must purchase tickets prior to the event. Although kids under 18 are free, they must get a free ticket so we can monitor our numbers for covid safe planning. Any additional donation money will go towards providing opportunities for artists and performers to participate in free events at the farm in the future.

Look forward to celebrating the Summer Solstice with you.
