The 10,000 was the launching pad for Redzel, who etched his name into history by winning the first two running's of The Everest. The Doomben 10,000 has been won by many of Australia’s best speedsters, including the baldy-faced dual winner Apache Cat, local idol Falvelon, the fairy-tale sprinter Takeover Target and more recently by Spirit Of Boom, who is now Queensland’s premier stallion.
