Truffle Celebration at Prahran Market

Prahran Market’s Truffle Celebration is an event not to be missed for any food lover. On Saturday 24th July the Market’s popular Truffle Trail will make a comeback, plus there are free demonstrations from some of Melbourne’s favourite chefs and truffle treats to purchase around the Market.

The Truffle Trail is a ticketed experience where guests can follow a trail around the Prahran Market to pick up delicious truffle dishes and products, some to eat along the way and some can be taken home to enjoy. There are three menus to choose from with different prices, including a vegetarian option. The Truffle Trail runs from 2-5pm, bookings essential

Prahran Market Truffle Trail Menu A, $35.50 (incl booking fee)
- Farini – Truffled mushroom pizza slice
- Kook’s Kitchen – Buckwheat soba noodle, roast Brussel sprout, enoki, black fungus & parsley salad with freshly grated black truffle
- The Food House Deli – Savoury black truffle Mille-Feuille
- Fritz Gelato – Double cream black truffle ice-cream
- Damian Pike – Truffled eggs (1/2 dozen)

- Gary’s Meats – Truffle, veal and mushroom sausage in an artisan dinner roll
- Prahran Seafoods – 2 Hervey Bay scallops baked in the half shell with mornay sauce and freshly shaved truffle
- Stir The Pot – Truffled chicken petite pie
- Naheda’s Choice – Truffled parmigiano with crackers
- Fritz Gelato – Double cream black truffle ice-cream
- Damian Pike – Truffled eggs (1/2 dozen)

The Prahran Market Demonstration Kitchen in the centre of Harvest Hall will be the destination for people to watch their favourite chefs in action with drool-worthy demonstrations from 11am. Demonstrations are free but ticketed.
- 11am – Tobie Puttock will join Damian Pike to create Tagliarini with Truffle
- 12noon – Darren Purchese of Burch & Purchese will join Damian Pike to demonstrate a sweet truffle dish
- 1pm – Joe Vargetto of Mister Bianco and Massi restaurants will create a Red Wine & Truffle Risotto with Parmesan Brodo

Plus, there’s limited edition truffle treats on sale from everyone’s favourite Market Traders such as Truffled Cacio e Pepe and Truffled Brioche from Maker & Monger, Truffle, Veal & Mushroom Sausages from Gary’s Meats and Damian Pike will sell Truffled Eggs and Truffled Butter alongside Bacon & Egg Truffled Pies that are a collab with Stir The Pot.
