Chu Hongjun, Director of Kalamaili ungulate Nature Reserve, has been engaged in wild animal preservation for about 28 years. Chu Wenwen initiated Tongzhichu Wild Animal Preservation Association at the age of 24 and began photographing the wild animals even at 7. Her favourite animals are the around 500 Sino-Mongolian Beavers living along the Ulungur River. The beaver is a relict animal ever living in the same times with Dinosaurs. As China's national first-class protected animals and the only river beaver species existing in China, they are as rare as Pandas and an integral part of the Ulungur River ecosystem. Chu Wenwen is determined to shoulder the responsibility of preservation of wild animals from her father to address the survival challenges facing the beavers.
