Feel The Great Vibes and Good Music at Summer Sounds 2022
Saturday 26 February

Get ready to rock out with some of this year’s hottest talent at Summer Sounds 2022 and send off the summer sun with a celebration of live Australian music in the outdoor Plaza at Bunjil Place. Soak up the summer vibes with this event-packed evening of live music plus tasty food and beverages on Saturday 26 February from 6.00pm until late. Summer Sounds offers the perfect setting as the sun goes down.

Tickets are $10 including a beverage upon arrival, showcasing three fabulous live acts:

The Mamas
The past three years have seen this eight-piece act earn a reputation for their unique blend of soul, RnB and funky fem hop.  Led by four of the sassiest vocalists you’ll ever meet, The Mamas are a feast for the senses and an invigorating tonic for those in need of a good dance (and a good laugh). The Mamas have been disciplining and nurturing audiences since 2016, bringing female voices and stories to the front and charming their way into the hearts of Mamas Babes across the nation.

Sumner
Sumner hail from the native woodlands of Lutruwita / Tasmania. Sumner is an alternative electro duo made up of Chloe Wilson and Jack McLaine who use their music to explore themes of power, intimacy and isolation from their cold-climate doorstep. Their songwriting emits a warmth, lit by their earnest and unique perspectives as young Australians in relative isolation.

Billy Davis and the Good Lords
Billy Davis is known for his exciting blend of hip-hop/RnB.  With support from around the world, the talented producer and band leader has stamped himself as a unique talent on the Australian musical landscape. Billy Davis and his band, the Good Lords, are a musical juggernaut featuring up to 11 members when playing live, “the kind of funk, jazz, electronic and hip-hop is really unlike any combination of genres we’ve heard” (Hilly Dilly).

A sought-after session musician in his own right, Billy Davis has spent the last couple of years immersing himself in the fruitful local neo-soul and hip-hop scene. Quickly assembling the Billy Davis project, his first release, The  Bad Ending Mixtape, was released independently last year to a burst of local fanfare. His debut album, A Family Portrait, is a funkadelic hybrid of soul and hip-hop that has been a breath of fresh air on the Australian music scene.

Summer Sounds radiates the kind of energy that’s been missed over the last two years. Catch the last of the summer sun with this collection of amazing artists at Bunjil Place.
