Cointreau, at the heart of one of Australia’s favourite cocktails, the Margarita, is touring Sydney’s best venues and events with the ultimate Margarita and Taco pop up bar in the form of a retro Kombi, the Cointreau Margarita Kombi.

Located in the heart of the Hills District, this 1820s restored Irish pub, The Fiddler, offers a variety of bars, dining areas and entertainment spaces embellished with flowing greenery of vines and ferns.

This modern wonderland is fitted out with a chic veranda and barstools that look onto the beer garden which you’ll watch come alive with light in the evening - the ultimate garden for the Cointreau Margarita Kombi to visit. Also known as ‘the home of celebrations’, this unique setting makes a perfect match alongside your delicious Cointreau margarita.

Australia’s love of Margaritas has increased in the last year, with searches for Margarita recipes increasing by 83% in the last 12 months alone (Google Trends, 2020-2021)! To accommodate the versatility of this favoured tipple, there will be three cocktails served by the Cointreau Margarita Kombi to enjoy. For those who can’t fault the classics they can enjoy the Original Margarita. Though, with many Aussies getting a bit more adventurous with their Margarita choices, they can opt for a Spicy Margarita which includes Cointreau, Jalapeno, Tequila and lime juice. Whereas, those interested in something a bit different in those warmer months, the Cointreau Margarita Kombi will also be offering a frozen Passionfruit Margarita which includes Passionfruit Liqueur to add a summer twist on the classic Margarita recipe.

The pop-up bar on wheels is a retro VW Kombi, dedicated to serving Margaritas and delicious tacos created by chef Melinda Essey who has a passion for Central and South American cuisine after spending considerable time travelling and cooking in Guatemala and Central America. The menu will consist of the perfect accompaniments to a Margarita and includes a Chicken Taco with Tomatillo salsa, pickled red onion, slaw and lime crema, as well as a Chilli Black Bean Taco which includes chilli black beans, tomatillo salsa, pickled red onion and slaw for those wanting a vegetarian option, and of course the classic Guac and Tortilla Chips. The menu items will be available in meal and drink packages with a $12 combination of a Margarita and guac & chips, $15 for a Margarita and taco of choice and $22 for those interested in a Margarita tasting box, featuring your taco of choice and guac & chips.
