The search is on for Australia’s funniest teens! Melbourne International Comedy Festival's national comedy competition for young people is back!

Class Clowns aims to inspire, engage and elevate teens aged 14-18 who are hoping to flex their funny bone and get into comedy. Held in Term 1 of the school year, the competition is free, and a lot of fun. All you need is 3-5 minutes of original comedy material of any genre. Stand-up, sketch, narrative, solo, group, musical, physical – all are welcomed. Heats are held around the country and comprise a 2-hour workshop where students rehearse and refine their act with the help of a professional comedian, followed by an opportunity to perform for a live audience!

The funniest entrants go on to compete in state finals, with the winners invited to participate in the National Grand Final during the Melbourne International Comedy Festival! The winner will earn themselves a sweet $1,500 cash prize and a workshop package for their school.

If you’re a funny teen, or the teacher, parent or guardian of one, visit classclowns.com.au to register and to learn more.

TICKETING: You are purchasing a ticket to the Brunswick Heads heat where you will watch all student participants and their live comedy! Please note this ticket price is NOT for the 2-hour comedy workshop.
