Three nights of lively, fun Balfolk (French) folk dances, taught by David and Cathy, still revelling in the joy of Le Grand Bal de L'Europe at Gennetines in France, an amazing 14 day dance festival.
One night of contra dancing—non-competitive, moderately aerobic and highly addictive. It’s a lively, social, swingy dance style from the USA. Done to simple walking steps, it features flowing movements, lots of swings and twirls, and a chance to dance with everyone in the room.
Joyful music, many smiles and a good workout.
$7-15 at folktas.org/balfolk, folktas.org/contra or at the door.
All dances taught.
No dancing experience or partner required but you’re welcome to bring either.
All ages welcome.
The Balfolk nights are in place of our regular 1st and 3rd Monday contra dances, as our usual band is away for those nights.
