From humble beginnings, playing a regular Friday night at the ‘Hall for Hire’, under the bridge that goes from South Geelong to Belmont along Moorabool Street the ‘House Band’ or ‘The Bellarinas’ as they are affectionately known, came together by chance with a common passion for classic country songs and a desire for making people happy via the gift of music.

The Bellarine Country Music Group is currently enjoying a significant growth spurt while the House Band is gaining quite the reputation around the country music circuit in Victoria. Members include Joseph Calderazzo (The Bloomvilles/Jenny Morris), who recently returned to Geelong after living in Sydney for many years and reached out to long-time friend, Tony Valenti (Double Vision), then teamed up with locals, Don Campanile (Double Vision), Karl Redlich and Gary Stevenson (Cool Change).

After months of Friday nights backing various guest artists, the House Band is stepping out to do a one-off show at the St Leonards Hotel on the Bellarine Peninsula. And just to sweeten the deal, special guests for the afternoon will be The Millwards who are currently enjoying some chart success with their latest offering, A Bushman Can’t Survive.

Expect to hear songs by the country greats; Glen Campbell, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Slim Dusty, Kris Kristofferson, Roy Orbison, Brooks & Dunn, Emmylou Harris, Dwight Yoakam, Linda Ronstadt, Tammy Wynette / George Jones plus heaps more…
