Join us in The STEAM Room 2023 for a night of Science Comedy featuring Doctor Karl, Kirsten Banks, plus an eclectic line-up of Sydney’s top scientists and comedians.

Following a SOLD-OUT show and encore performance at last year’s Sydney Comedy Festival, the STEAM Room is back with a fresh team of scientists training to turn their research into stand-up and brave the comedy stage for the first time! Psychedelics, nuclear meltdowns, and forensic mishaps – nothing is off limits!

National Treasure Dr Karl is BACK again headlining the night with his own science comedy routine! And if that wasn’t exciting enough, The STEAM Room will also showcase stand up from TikTok sensation, astrophysicist Kirsten Banks, and science drag queen extraordinaire, Diva Attenbra!

HEADLINERS: Doctor Karl and Kirsten Banks

SCIENTISTS: Diva Attenbra, Dr Tara Djokic, Dr Scott Chadwick, Dr Sam Banister, Pritam Bordhan, Dr Linda Mitchell, Ruby Stephens, Associate Professor Stephen Woodcock, and Luke Steller

COMEDIANS: Bec Melrose (RAW Comedy Winner 2018), Suren Jayemanne, Carolyn Swindell, and Scary Strangers aka Ru Halwala & Tom Stevenson (MC’s)

This event is only made possible with the generous support from Big Questions Institute and Inspiring NSW.
