Night Dancing is an outdoor roaming performance - part dance, part sound installation, part community gathering - that explores the safety of female and non-binary bodies in the street after dark.

Powerfully warm-hearted, the work weaves the subtle poetry and politics of walking and witnessing into unexpected pockets of the city.

Audiences are invited to experience the urban landscape anew in this moving meditation on reclamation and collective care. Previously presented at Kickstart Festival 2022 and supported by a 2021 STRUT Dance SEED residency, Night Dancing transcends fear and division to propose a way of being together that is radically gentle, celebratory, playful and reflective.

Night Dancing is an outdoor roaming performance that is suitable for able walkers (staircases may need to be navigated).

The meeting point is at the State Theatre Centre Box Office.
