Future Music Festival 2nd Line-Up Announcement

With summer blasting off for another year, the countdown to Australia's biggest celebration, Future Music Festival 2012, has officially begun.

And, just when you thought this rocket ride could not get any hotter, Future Entertainment is pleased to announce a stunning supernova of fresh new stars will join the party that's already way outta' sight.

Here's a taste of who's gearing up to rock your body in zero gravity like there's no tomorrow... 3... 2... 1... brace yourselves...

A lot of acts are described as 'needing no introduction' these days, but when it comes to New Order it actually rings true. In the words of Festival Director Brett Robinson:

"New Order are one of the true pioneer's of electronica, at the forefront of the new wave movement, and Swedish House Mafia is the biggest electronic band of this time - these two bands alone represent the past and present of music that sit at the very heart and soul of the Future Music Festival. New Order is one of the most influential bands of our time and with out festival direction being everything from electronica to indie rock and beyond they are the perfect co-headliner for us and we can wait to see them gracing our stages."

As one of the most revered and iconic bands of our time, this team of revolutionary electronic musicians and audacious New Wave pioneers have captivated the world's imagination for over 30 years. Responsible for tracks like Blue Monday, Bizarre Love Triangle and Age of Consent, these legends in their own lifetime need no introduction! Speaking on booking New Order, Brett Robinson noted:

It's always a difficult task trying to top the year before, and in the case of 2010 and its success, it’s a massive undertaking. The Chemical Brothers have played Future Music Festival twice now and each year we discuss with them how hard it will be to find acts that will top their phenomenal stage show. When Ed Chemical and his manager Alex went to Paris to see New Order's first show back from their hiatus they called me the instant they left the show to say ‘if you know what's good for you, book them straight away, the show was every bit as good as it ever has been. Next day we went and did just that!"

Newly reformed and firing on all cylinders, New Order have garnered rave reviews from recent performances. Brett Robinson added:

"We are booking New Order for New Order - a band that have debuted their re-united band and iconic songs to rave reviews in Europe, and led by front man Bernard Sumner's distinctive vocals. A band is bigger than any one member and in the case of New Order they represent an entire movement and an iconic moment in music that has become timeless and coveted."

New Order fans are set to enjoy an unbridled musical epiphany when they hit main stage. Reflecting the excitement sure to be shared by a legion of fans across Australia, Brett Robinson enthused:

If this in fact their last ever tour of Australia, as a band performing all their biggest hits like Blue Monday and Bizarre Love Triangle, then this is an amazing day for Future Music Festival being selected as the environment in which to do it. We know there will be 200,000+ fans nationally that will be electrified by them on our stage. This booking is a career highlight for us at Future.

Hailing from the UK, Mercury Prize nominated funksters Friendly Fires are set to wow crows with their innovative sounds! Hot on the heels of dropping their latest and greatest album, The Papercut Chronicles II, New York's finest hip hopping rockers, Gym Class Heroes, are set to blow the popsicle stand sky high, whilst free-styling, rap-firing grime master Professor Green will also be on the launch pad come party time.

Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen's (of Pendulum fame) latest meteoric project, Knife Party, will destroy you with lazers just like their recent single suggests. Returning Future Music Festival favorites Mark Ronson and Zane Lowe are teaming up to unveil their super secret new collaboration, so expect things to get epic. Nuff' said...

The milky-way's freshest Trance all-stars, Ireland's John O'callaghan, Norway's Orjan Nilsen, and local favourite TyDi will be on hand to fire seismic supersonic build ups...

Deep Dish legend and Techno demi-god in his own right, Dubfire, German underground legend, Oliver Huntemann, dubstep prodigy Flux Pavilion, multi-genre wizard Kill the Noize and spit-firing US Electro gun Porter Robinson are all packing their bags to go deliciously deep into overdrive.

And last but certainly not least, Australia's favourite party starters; uber-cool first lady of House, Ruby Rose and DJ/instrumentalist Timmy Trumpet will also be on hand to turn the party dial up to a roar.

With just a few months to go until the mighty Future Music Festival brings the biggest acts in the universe to the sexiest party this side of the sun, it's time to slip into your sequinned spacesuits, strap on your futuristic party helmets and get ready to rock, writhe and rejoice like you've never done before... this is the party you've all been waiting for.
