Robert Plant announced as Bluesfest 2013 headliner

Byron Bay Bluesfest weren't lying when they said the third and final line-up announcement for 2013 was gonna be a big one: Robert Plant, front man of legendary band, Led Zeppelin, is heading Down Under to front up on the big stage presenting Sensational Space Shifters.

The last time Plant came to Australia was with equally as infamous band member, Jimmy Page in 1996, and when Led Zeppelin graced us with their presence in 1972.

Plant's inclusion and place on the line-up isn't the only information of note on the third and final announcement, however; Roger Hodgson, the guy that sang in Supertramp, 70s rock band all dads love, Status Quo, former lead singer of the band YES, Jon Anderson, and some of England's best in the form of 80s heroes, Madness.

The 24th Bluesfest is shaping up to be a cracker with Santana, Jimmy Cliff, Iggy & The Stooges, Ben Harper, Steve Miller Band, Chris Isaak, Wilco and many more already announced.

I presume a lot of bucket lists will have a good chunk of their content crossed off come Bluesfest, which will take place between Thursday 28 of March and Monday 1 of April 2013 at Bluesfest’s permanent home at Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm just outside of Byron Bay.

Tickets are onsale now through the Bluesfest 2013 website
