Carole King to tour in February 2013

Carole King has announced a run of Australian shows, to take place next February.

King has a fairly big claim on the title of 'greatest songwriter ever' (Mozart was alright too, but no lyrics? Lazy). In the '60s she and her husband Gerry Goffin wrote over two dozen chart hits, including The Monkees' 'Pleasant Valley Sunday', The Shiralee's 'Will You Love Me Tomorrow?', The Beatles' 'Chains', The Chiffons' 'One Fine Day', Aretha Franklin's '(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman', Little Eva's (Kylie's) 'Loco-Motion' and numerous others - plus this psychedelic beast.

And this was all before she went solo, and released a string of immaculate confessional albums, including the unassailable Tapestry, which stayed on the American charts for four years, selling over 25 million copies worldwide.

All in all, she has chalked up over one hundred Billboard chart singles as a songwriter and artist, released 25 solo records to date, over a thousand artists have released covers of her songs, and she even ran the Stars Hollow music store on Gilmore Girls - her song 'Where You Lead (I Will Follow)' was the theme song to the series.

Tickets for all shows will go on sale at 9am, Friday November 23.
