The Seekers to tour Australia in May 2013

Australian 1960s folksters, The Seekers, have announced an Australian tour to celebrate 50 years of being them.

The tour will visit  BrisbaneCanberraNewcastleWollongongAdelaidePerthSydney and Melbourne, the shows expected to be two hours each in length, and imbibing all the hallmarks of nostalgia with  stories, memorabilia, messages of congratulations from music industry contemporaries, and video clips incorporated into the concert - awww, memories.

The Seekers were quite the hit factory in their prime, topping the charts with I’ll Never Find Another You”, “A World Of Our Own”, “The Carnival Is Over”, “Morningtown Ride”, “Georgy Girl”, “I Am Australian” in Australia and overseas, and have rubbed shoulders with the likes of Paul Simon, Dusty Springfield, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and The Animals.

They have also appeared in concert for the Queen Mother, as any good subject of the realm and relevant pop star is obliged to do at the request or direction of a reigning monarch, in shows known as Royal Command Performances - they sound fun.

Tickets to the tour go onsale Monday 10 December.
