Bruce Frederick Joseph Springsteen AKA The Boss has finally quelled the rumours and announced he's heading Down Under with the E Street Band next March. The series of shows, known as the Wrecking Ball Tour, will no doubt be lapped up by the broken-hearted, down-trodden, working-class heroes, and of course his legions of Australian fans.
The Boss will play in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, and outdoors at Macedon in Victoria at the iconic Hanging Rock, which has hosted only two headline acts previously, Leonard Cohen and Rod Stewart having warmed up the foot of the rock for Springsteen and the E Street Band.
It’s Springsteen's first tour of Australia in over a decade, but his legend status is concrete in the country, known and loved for his song themes of heartbreak, toil, being a political guy that campaigns for the “cool” president, half-time Superbowl shows and slides, and his epic three hour sets.
A 24 hour presale begins at 12pm next Wednesday, December 12 with general release tickets becoming available from 9am local time next Friday, December 14.
