'Cheeky' new ad for Lions Tour

A new ad campaign has caused some controversy amongst fans of the 2013 Rugby Lions Tour.

Sportsbet.com.au launched the Rooting For the Wallbies ad above yesterday where it turned up painted in a paddock near Melbourne airport.

The “cheeky” ad, according to Sportsbet spokesman Haydn Lane depicts opposing team mascots clothed in their respective jerseys with the wallaby ‘hugging’ the lion from behind.

Matt Giteau, former Australian rugby international player defended the campaign saying, "It's a bit of good-natured ribbing and a bit of fun. Hopefully that's what people see it for." 

The crude humour present in the ad has caused a bit of a stir over whether or not it oversteps the line between good and bad taste.
