Sarah Blasko confirmed for March in May

Sydney musician Sarah Blasko has confirmed she will perform a couple of songs at March in May on Sunday May 18. Blasko has a long solo career in the music industry, having released four studio albums including the singles ‘We Won’t Run’, ‘All I Want’ and more recently ‘God-Fearing’ and ‘Fool’ from her 2013 release ‘I Awake’.

Blasko attended the Sydney March in March as a supporter of the grass-roots push for better governance. English songwriter Billy Bragg performed on that date to an enthusiastic crowd and March Australia supporters eagerly anticipate a heartening performance by Sarah Blasko’s with over 200 likes on the announcement within ten minutes and over 800 by the following day.

Guest MC has been confirmed as writer and social commentator Van Badham who spoke her mind on issues close to the cause on ABC’s Q&A in late April.

Organisers of March in May have a list of core concerns, some of them are Education (cuts to funding and changes to fees), The Economy (anti-Trans Pacific Partnership), Human Rights (asylum seeker rights, indigenous issues, women’s issues, worker’s rights, disability support) and Environmental Issues (animal rights, climate change, dredging of the Great Barrier Reef, logging of heritage-listed forests, coal seam gas and mining).
