Margaret Cho Returns Down Under With The Psycho Tour

Get your eardrums ready for thunderous laughters as Margaret Cho, dubbed by New York Times as one of the funniest comedians in America, goes back to Australia for a national tour this September.

Margaret will be cracking her rib-tickling, knee-slapping punchliners in Perth, Brisbane and Melbourne and will have a special performance in Sydney for the Just For Laughs festival.

Being an Agent Provocateur of stand up, Margaret is never one to shy away from a taboo topic. There are literally no subjects off limits for her. Her socially aware, no-holds-barred brand of comedy has made her both a thought leader and a tolerant teacher to those with open minds and open hearts.

A multi-media performer, Margaret has conquered the worlds of film, television, books, music and theatre. Having been nominated for three Grammy Awards and one Emmy Award, her comedy tours are a constant sell-out around the world.

The film and DVD releases of Margaret’s comedy shows are record-breaking with I’m The One That I Want still holding the title for Most Money Grossed Per Print for an independent film. Margaret has also made a permanent mark in television including six seasons of Drop Dead Diva. Margaret is a special guest host on E’s Fashion Police this year, covering the 2016 Award Shoes and is also currently developing Highland, an hour long dramedy for Amazon about a woman who, after completing a court-ordered rehab, gets a chance to start over by moving in with her (dysfunctional) family who runs a pot dispensary.

With her artistic life brimming with success, Margaret has never turned away from her advocacies. She is incredibly active in anti-racism, anti-bullying, advocating for the homeless and gay rights campaigns. From her activism to her music to her stand up, Margaret is honest, forthright, passionate, uproarious, raucous, bold and unyielding: Margaret Cho is at her very best.

Through her hard work, Margaret has had the opportunity to be heard, to extend her point of view and become regarded as a trailblazer in her field. She takes none of it for granted. “It’s a wonderful thing to be known as a ‘safe haven’ for people. People come to see me, or buy my records and/or DVDs because my point of view satisfies a lot of what needs to be said out there. More than anything, that makes me really proud”.
