Relive the music of legendary British rock band, Jethro Tull, as its lead singer and flautist, Ian Anderson, returns to Australia this April 2017 to celebrate a lengthy career that has seen him and the band sell more than 60 million records.

Apart from his next year’s Bluesfest performance, Ian Anderson will headline shows in Perth, Melbourne and Sydney, performing the music of Jethro Tull.

After their first performance at London’s famous Marquee Club in 1968, Jethro Tull have been one of the most successful live acts by the mid-seventies, rivalling Led Zeppelin, Elton John and even The Rolling Stones. The band’s iconic albums, Aqualung and Thick As A Brick brought the band international success and saw Ian Anderson lead the way in revolutionising the rock concept album.

Having performed more than 3000 concerts in 40 countries over the last 40 years, Ian Anderson is widely known as the man who introduced the flute to rock music, and remains the crowned exponent of the popular and rock genres of flute playing.

Various members have come and gone throughout the band’s existence, but Ian Anderson has been a constant - leading the group's musical journey while continuing to breathe new life into an epic catalogue spanning more than 30 albums and nearly 50 years.

With a lifelong commitment to music, Ian says he’s far too young to hang up his hat or his flute, “Although the tights and codpiece have long since been consigned to a forgotten bottom drawer!”

Catch Ian Anderson in April next year, and hear him play Jethro Tull's music, a remarkable catalogue that has shaped modern rock.
