Monkey Safari Returns Down Under This January

Get wild and enjoy a safari of house music as Monkey Safari hits Australian road once again, almost exactly twelve months after their last stint in Australia. They will be performing in Perth, Wollongong, Sydney and Melbourne.

Since their conception, Monkey Safari’s mantra has been to cheer up and light up even the bleakest, darkest dance floors. Australia's Rainbow Serpent Festival in January, Netherland’s Awakenings festival in June and The Social Festival in England were among the shows that kept the duo's calendar jam-packed last year. When they weren’t busy spreading sunshine behind the decks, the German brothers were hard-pressed on writing new music, and in 2016 the duo managed to squeeze out three EPs on their new imprint Hommage which feature remixes from a number of dance music greats which include Paco Osuna, Victor Ruiz and Blond:ish. They were also in high demand as remixers and did a remix for dance legend Moby and The Void Pacific’s track ‘Almost Loved’.

"Riding in with the power to deliver sunshine to the world’s rainiest open air events, Monkey Safari bring rays of light to whatever dance floor they cast their shimmering spell on."

2015 saw the brothers swinging to new trees, stepping away from their previous labels to focus on their new label Hommage. The German producers have been busy developing and tailoring a sound suited perfectly for the unique club nuances while still keeping the core elements of their productions – melodic chords and grooves. 2015 also unveiled Monkey Safari’s remix for Marc Houle’s ‘Pepper’ on Richie Hawtin’s label Minus and their hugely successful Cranes and Walls EPs that gave the duo opportunities to work with some exciting musicians such as Wolf + Lamb and Kölsch, as well as techno giants Guy Gerber, Josh Wink and one of dance music’s most iconic producers, Moby.

2016 went pretty much the same as 2015, with a series of remixes and new material over the course of the year. Their first EP of 2016, On, spawned remixes from techno legend Paco Osuna alongside French producer Chloé. Some of electronic music’s top names are lined up to receive the Safari touch with the developed and matured sound apparent in the brothers' latest movements. Monkey Safari’s remix for Moby and The Void Pacific Choir is the pick of the bunch, returning the favour after Moby’s successful rework of the duo’s track ‘Walls’ last year.

With a heavy touring schedule, the brothers had the opportunity to test their evolving sound once again when they played Awakenings Festival. They are now cooking up some exciting things including a new event series that will see some of the scene's top emerging talents play alongside the brothers in the world’s best clubs. This series of new events will see the duo rekindle their love for party promotion since their tender years in their hometown of Halle, Germany, where they own the infamous and recently remodelled Charles Bronson club.

With no signs of deceleration, the German outfit continues to trail the path of musical excellence. They intend to touch all scopes of dance culture, be it a fresh remix or EP drop, DJ set or party.
