In support of his second studio album ‘All Amerikkkan Bada$$’, American rapper Joey Bada$$ will be winding up a slew of Australian dates this January. He will be landing at the Eatons Hill Hotel in Brisbane then will drive down to the Enmore Theatre in Sydney. And just before his much-awaited performance at Melbourne’s Sugar Mountain Festival, the 22-year old Brooklyn native will be crossing the west side with a show at the Metro City in Perth.
The album, which was released last April, served the politically-charged tracks like “Devastated”, “Land Of The Free” and “Amerikkkan Idol”. It peaked at number five on the Billboard’s charts and is currently slaying the country’s airwaves. The accompanying tour will see Joey performing the songs off the album, live.
From a YouTube freestyler, Joey went on to become one of the prodigies of rap and hip hop. He formally gained entry into the scene as one of the founding members of the hip hop collective, Pro Era, along with his friend, the late Capital Steez. He later released his 2012 debut mixtape ‘1999’ which further stabilised his then growing career. Apart from his music projects, Joey also appears on TV, playing the role of “Leon” in the TV series, ‘Mr. Robot’.
