Dope Lemon - Honey Bones Tour
Touring for the first time with his new musical project, Dope Lemon, this October and November, Angus Stone, one of Australia’s most experienced songwriters, is all geared up to perform his new songs live on his Honey Bones Tour. He will be performing in Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
The tour coincides with the release of Dope Lemon’s third single, Coyote, taken from the band’s debut album, the critically acclaimed Honey Bones. Taking three years to complete, Honey Bones was released to much critical acclaim around Australia with The Saturday Paper calling it: “the most enjoyable and satisfying album of Angus Stone’s career”. It was released earlier this year through EMI Music Australia.
"Very stoked on this vibe. Think it's going to be a cool little tour… can't wait to get the lemon on the road!"
Described by triple j as “laidback coastal rock”, the first single released earlier this year, Uptown Folks, is a “lyrical montage of all things good and bad in a world run by the folks with money and its simple, world-changing message - ‘get back to the garden’”.
Gaining warm reception from fans and media alike, Honey Bones was recorded on Stones’ farm at his personal recording studio, Belafonte Studios, with close friend Rohin Brown (The Walking Who) on guitar. They set out on a musical journey of the mind; through sleep deprivation unplugging the artistic dam to explore the deepest recesses of maniacal creativity. The making of the record became the ultimate reflection of Angus’ existence, a world where reality and fantasy, creativity and practicality freely flow altogether, to form things tangible but that feel like a dream.
Jack River will be joining Dope Lemon at Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne shows as special guest. Latest signing to taste-making label IOHYOU, Jack River has been making waves at triple j and community radio with her debut single Talk Like That, from her forthcoming EP.
Get your tickets and let Dope Lemon make you feel the good vibes this October and November!
