Mount Claremont Primary School

Located in the heart of the western suburbs, Mount Claremont Mount Claremont Primary School
Primary School (formerly known as Graylands Primary School) opened its doors in 1917 and the school has developed a rich history in a variety of education roles. With almost unanimous community support, the school name changed to Mount Claremont from the start of 2007, the year in which it celebrated it's 90th birthday.

In addition to its role in primary school education, it has at various times included a Migrant Education centre, an Intensive English Centre, a Teachers' College Demonstration School and a PEAC (Primary Extension and Challenge) centre.

The school currently serves from three main intake areas - Mt Claremont to the north, west and east, Claremont to the south and Swanbourne to the west.

Parents are involved in many aspects of the school program, working in partnership with school staff to support student’s education.The school hosts a PEAC centre for the North Metropolitan district, the Friends of Lake Claremont environmental group as well as an out of school hours care program operated by Mulberry Tree.

The school has an active P&C which, through its main fund raising endeavours of Royal Show Parking and the Farmers Market, provides the school with significant additional funding to support the learning program. ICT features strongly across the school with all classes (K - 7) having interactive whiteboards. Classes from Year 1 - 7 have access to laptop computers with wireless connectivity and the Kindergarten and Pre-Primary classes have iPad technology available to enhance the learning program.
