The Gaelic

With major renovations completed The Gaelic Hotel is now a 500-capacity, split-level, multi-purpose venue situated only meters from Central Rail & Bus stations between Chalmers & Elizabeth Street. The Gaelic has a late License till 4am, 7 days a week, and is surrounded by late night 24-hour hotels and food outlets.

The Gaelic has played host to dance parties, product launches, fashion shows, burlesque and cabaret events, theatre, comedy, corporate functions and other private parties. And of course, the cream of International and Australian touring bands continue to grace the Gaelic’s stage.

The Ground Level (capacity 250) boasts expansive polished wooden floors, a large easily-accessible bar near the stage, outdoor smoking courtyard, ATM, VIP Lounge, Plasmas for sport by day or bands by night and not to mention loads of character.

The Mezzanine Level (capacity 250) overlooks the stage, with its own bar, booths, tiered seating/standing for better sight lines, a quiet area with couches along with an outdoor balcony overseeing Devonshire Street.

The great advantage of having two floors is the versatility it affords: The Gaelic is able to appear as suited to events of 250 people as it is to a full house.

Production-wise, the Gaelic Theatre features a powerful NEXO Alpha E sound system and comprehensive stage lighting rig/desk in-house.
