The Mill Providore & Gallery is located in the top two floors of an historic flour mill on the banks of the Tamar river, above Launceston’s acclaimed Stillwater River Cafe’, Restaurant & Wine Bar. The two were voted Australia’s ‘Best Food Experience’ by readers of The Australian newspaper for two years running.
On the first floor above the restaurant you’ll find its deli featuring Tasmania’s finest produce, wine, local beers and other beverages, with free tastings always available. However The Mill is also the perfect place for gifts, offering the very best of Tasmanian art, craft, jewellery making and wood design.
Upstairs in the gallery exhibitions change every 4-6 weeks and feature works in a range of mediums from paintings, drawings and photography to sculpture, textiles and furniture design. Whilst the foyer entrance from Paterson Street displays the quirky prints and etchings of celebrated Tasmanian artist Tom Samek.
