The Underdog Pub Co

The Underdog Pub co is brand new exciting hotel in an iconic Fortitude Valley location. Located on the Brunswick st five ways on the corner of St Pauls terrace. Formally the Step Inn in its most recent incarnation it has had many live's and publicans in its 120+ year history. The earliest dating we've found is from 1876 and its publican M. Carey. The Current building dates from the turn of the last century at it features tiled facade and public bar with a tile and iron bark curved bar. It is reputedly the last of the six o'clock swill* bars left in the state.

The newly named Underdog Pub co features all the things a great australian pub should have… an open inviting public bar with friendly staff TAB Sports and affordable bar specials throughout the week. A secluded Gaming Room with a little bit of vegas. Our bistro caters for lunch and dinner and then becomes a place to party when it comes alive as an entertaiment venue with live music and DJ's or both. Cricket plays on the big screen all summer in a heat proof air-conditioned space.

Our Kitchen is the brainchild of our executive chef Pistol Pete who is an old school chef who has ran kitchens all over the country for over 30 years his menu combines the best of pub food coupled with his famous 24hr slow cooked rib fillet. With no item over $16 it has to be the best value for money around. The $9 Lunch is proving popular with the locals and workers on this end of the Valley.
