Designer slashies - personal projects - exhibition series

1. A Love Brief is a personal/or pro-bono project taken on as an act of love.

2. Slashie means multidisciplinary creative.

A Love Brief welcomes graphic disciples of the ‘slashie kind’ to open up a love brief and exhibit without commercial/corporate rein.

The first series takes place over four days starting on December 14th 2012 at the former Paramount Pictures building in Surry Hills, Sydney.

This first exhibit traverses a range of graphic disciplines and calls upon the artists to go deep beneath the surface in exploration of their craft, processes, and philosophies.

A Love Brief uses eight multidisciplinary briefs as a call for all involved to manifest the notion of self-love and co-creation through collaboration.

The intention here is not to find a hard set of results but rather leave the outcome open and free flowing; inviting the audience into a state of self reflection thus, drawing their own conclusion based on the love invested in the work and the messages projected from it. When combined, the briefs reveal a kind of introspection into our own anthropology and esoteric values.

The archives

A Love Brief is the brainchild of visionary Lulu Ruttley and her creative kindred spirit Louise Oldelberg. Their aim is to support our creative community, build a healthy habitat for creative development, provide socially creative outlets, share insight and expression, encourage creative play, and deliver this with authenticity.

In celebration, Lulu and Louise have gathered over fifty-eight creative contributions from local talent with all involved giving their time and skill set as a gift of love.

Many of the works will be available to purchase on the night with all proceeds re-invested in the project to ensure its longevity.
