The Alice Springs Town Council Christmas Carnival is a free family friendly community event jam packed with activities, kids fun, market stalls and live entertainment.


Under the Sails:
5-6pm: Run to Fire - If it's funk you feel, if gritty world grooves make you move, and a touch of the blues is what you freely choose....Run to Fire! With their eclectic, earthy and uplifting sounds, Run to Fire will keep light in the night, and like a spark, share the music around.

6.15-7.15pm: Bec Matthews - A short attention span has served Bec Matthews well, as she has drifted between her love of Kora (West African Harp), guitar, various other West African strings and other things. Her musical style and instrumentation reflects her eclectic tastes and a globe trotting past. Swinging from stomping swamp blues to classical West African folk songs and a myriad of styles in between, Bec Matthews is an artist of diverse talent. With her stories of misadventure with African witch doctors to songs speaking of our own stark inequalities, Bec will take you on a journey to far flung corners of the globe and back.

7.45-8.45pm: Catherine Satour & Band - With her Rock and Soul fusion of music genre, Alice Springs born Catherine Satour was a feature Artist for South Australia's Indigenous Youth Showcase 'Blak Nite' in 1997, 2001 and 2003 after participation in workshops run by Port Youth Theatre and Carclew Youth Arts in Adelaide. Satour was also a member of the 1998 'Deadly' nominated girl group 'Urban Sista'. With many a gig under her belt, Catherine Satour is a dynamic front women! with a 5 piece band of musical talent they are together putting a fresh spin on Desert Music from the Red Centre. Catherine Satour is ready to release her First Solo Album and is certain to make an extraordinary entrance onto the National Music scene. Catherine Satour is of Arrernte and Mirning Aboriginal Nations.
