Whilst Haydn was resident at the Estahazy palace, inspired by his elegant surroundings, he wrote many of his finest quartets. This program will explore some of these gems. Mozart, inspired by Haydn's skilful treatment of the quartet genre, dedicated six quartets to the composer from which you will hear 'The Spring' Quartet.

The Australian Haydn Ensemble's players are specialists in period instrument practice and all have international performance backgrounds. They regularly appear with orchestras such as The Australian Brandenburg, Pinchgut Opera, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, The English Consort, The Little Baroque Company, and The Gabrielli Consort.

Be one of the first to hear these fine young Australian musicians in their newest adventure; a refined ensemble specialising in music of the classical period.
