Melbourne City Wrestling returns to the Thornbury Theatre on Saturday July 14 with our no holds barred mid year supercard titled ‘Ballroom Brawl’.

Since 2010, Ballroom Brawl has been a staple of the MCW calendar, but this year, we will be adding several members from the Riot City Wrestling roster to the event. RCW is based out of South Australia, and over the last decade, have built their brand of professional wrestling into one of the most recognisable shows in Australia today. Since forming an alliance with RCW however, the rivalry between both states has intensified, with management deciding on a massive championship title match main event, which will see RCW’s Mimic challenging the current reigning MCW Champion, Matt Silva.

In addition, for the first time ever, we will see the Inaugural Ballroom Brawl Rumble; a match that will see twenty wrestlers from around the country entering the ring at one minute intervals, all vying for one thing: a shot at the Melbourne City Wrestling Championship in the main event of WrestleClash 4, taking place in October. The only rule here is that to be eliminated from the match, you must be thrown over the top rope, with both feet hitting the floor. Competitors will be announced over the coming weeks, but this may well prove to be the most exciting and unpredictable match on the MCW calendar all year!

Hosting Ballroom Brawl 2012 is the historic Thornbury Theatre, located in High Street, Thornbury, only 20 minutes from the Melbourne CBD. The venue has been considered the home of Melbourne City Wrestling for the past two years, with audiences tripling in such a brief period of time. All MCW live events are considered family friendly, and are suitable for young and old.
