Art Show by Renae Awen with Live Mural Street Art by *Lucks (Bris), a rare solo acoustic performanc by Dana Roskvist (Melb) and Sunshine Coast favourites The Flumes and Adam Scriven.

Jamvas Live Art Presents
Blue Roses. Anything is Possible.

All good stories have a beginning and Renae Awen's upcoming art exhibition at the Solbar, April 15, is being held almost two years to the day right where a dream began. From an unknown hobby artist painting on the floor with friends at Club Envy. To now, a solo exhibition with a killer line up at the infamous Solbar.

Staying true to the Jamvas philosophy, the opening night of Blue Roses is also showcasing some of our best local and interstate artists of the musical kind, with performances by The Flumes; Electric Harp pouring out psychedelic melodies over styling atmospheric grooves woven, soulful vocals laying down a lushly funky, dark and sparkling, cinematic brew. Adam Scriven; intricate finger picking, virtuoso and percussive guitar techniques, yidaki (didgeridoo), harmonica, an infectious foot stomp and conscious lyrics. And introducing a melding of David Bowie and Thom Yorke; Dana Roskvist of Melbourne band Sydonia playing a rare solo, acoustic set with blissful guitar and melodic vocals. These three acts are true artists and each of their innovative styles have been an intrinsic inspiration to Renae personally and artistically for years.

Bringing the Live Art to the collaboration is famous Brisbane Street Artist *Lucks. *Lucks knows more than a thing or two about luck. It's a major theme in his work along with inspiration from tattoos, grafffiti and domestic animals. He has murals all around Brisbane and we will get to see him at work creating a piece for the Solbar throughout the night.

Renae Awen's new collection on display for four weeks at the Solbar, is an interweaving of bold street flavoured style, distinctly feminine design influences and an undercurrent of the urban earth concious culture of her generation. Reflections of inspirations and a culmination of Renae's poetry in paint.

Not just another art show, Blue Roses is an exhibition in a dream proving, as in life, anything really is possible.
