The CCO String Quartet Tour Canberra concert is the last in a series of 13 concerts across Victoria and NSW. Performing in some of the most exciting venues including Melbourne’s Monsalvat, Geelong’s Courthouse ARTS, Bowral’s St Jude’s, Albury’s St Matthews and other regional centers; the Canberra concert should not to be missed.

The CCO String Quartet’s will be led by Ms Charlotte Winslade who is joined by Ms Fia Walsh (Violin II, 18yrs), Mr Thad Shattuck (Viola, 18yrs) and Ms Anne Ewing (Cello). Charlotte is one of Australia's finest string musicians and an accomplished soloist. She studied under Master Cellist Bernard Greenhouse (Dec), who studied under the great Master Pablo Casals (Dec) between 1946 - 1948. Charlotte has played with the Boston Symphony, performed in the middle east while assisting in the development of a music program at Kabul University and has been principal cellist for a number of orchestras, including the Canberra Symphony Orchestra.

Tim Murray Theatre boasts beautiful acoustic clarity perfectly suited to the quartet. The CCO String Quartet will perform:
Beethoven String Quartet I,
Mendelssohn String Quartet II and
Tchaikovsky String Quartet I.

The audiences will not miss any of the nuances of the CCO’s performance as they play these beautiful and timeless pieces from these great masters.

The Finale concert promises to be a celebration of accomplishment for our young talented musicians and the chance for Canberra to celebrate with them. You are invited to witness this exciting ensemble, which is testament to the CCO's commitment to excellence in orchestral training.

Funds raised from the quartet tour will be used to fund future performance opportunities and ensemble training initiatives for talented and emerging string artists in Canberra and regional centers.

CCO - Keeping the energy and passion in music.
