The Darwin International Film Festival is on again in 2012 with 10 unique films over 8 magical nights at Darwin's iconic Deckchair Cinema. Festival season doesn't end in August, as audiences from around the country and films from around the globe meet in joyous union.
Balmy tropical nights, fine food and even finer wine down by the waterfront make for a fabulous week-long event.
This year's festival includes two Australian premieres including 'Flowers of War', an epic film set in in wartime China in 1937 and 'Punch', an uplifting Korean family and social drama. Darwin International Film Festival also includes 8 films never before screened in the Northern Territory.
These include Opening Night 'Farewell My Queen', a French drama with a unique take on the last days of the reign of doomed monarch, Louis XVI, 'Once Upon a Time in Anatolia', a Turkish drama, holocaust movie and Oscar hopeful 'Lore, On The Road' starring Kristen Stewart and much more.
Come down early, watch the sunset over the harbour while you enjoy a refreshing beverage from our fully licensed kiosk, feast your taste buds on a hot meal from one of our food vendors, or, bring a picnic. Strictly No BYO alcohol.
