Elgar’s Cello Concerto is one of those rare pieces where player and instrument become one and the voice of the composer speaks in poignant, wordless utterances. Let cellist Sue-Ellen Paulsen and conductor Marko Letonja take you on one of music’s great journeys. Elgar’s passionate concerto is perfectly matched with Dvorak’s dramatic Symphony No 7 and The Moonlight Jewel, a new, specially commissioned work by Australian composer Julian Langdon.

Pre-concert talk at 6.30pm with Simone Walters free to ticket holders.

- Commissioned for the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra by Joy Selby Smith, TSO Principal Trumpet Chair Sponsor.
