Be the first to sample new release wines from all around Victoria plus free masterclasses and exclusive offers at the Fed Square Wine Showcase.

Welcome the long, warm nights of summer with new release wines from Victoria's finest boutique wineries.

Look out for new season rosé, sauvignon blanc, pinot grigio and other aromatic, fresh white wines. Of course there will also be many new release reds that have been waiting patiently and developing rich, full flavours from their time in barrel and bottle.

Masterclasses, judging and exclusive offers. Rub shoulders with the winemakers and learn from the experts in the free masterclasses available to all ticketholders on the Thursday evening at 5.30pm, 6.30pm and 7.30pm. Even be a judge yourself with the ‘People’s Choice Award’ for the best wine and winery.

Selected wines from the Showcase are officially judged on the Wednesday evening. The winners of the Gold, Silver and Bronze categories are announced on the Thursday evening. Winners from each Showcase will then compete in the annual Fed Square Wine Awards, which cap off the season with a 'Best of the Best' Showcase and awards ceremony in August 2013.

This year the special award 'Best In Show' returns and will highlight a standout wine that will then be featured in restaurants and retailers across the state.

The judges are led by Nick Stock, editor of The Good Wine Guide 2012, presenter and award-winning wine writer. Other judges of distinction include Ron Leslie, Committee Chair; Victoria Sharples from The Wine Station and Brett Snelson, Victorian winemaker.

Exclusive offer to ticketholders: Join the City to Cellar program and receive 10% off at the cellar doors of participating wineries as well as exclusive winery tours with the winemaker, free bottles with case purchases and much more.

The Fed Square Wine Showcase Series has been operating since April 2004 and is a year-long program held bi-monthly on the first Wednesday and Thursday of the month. Each Showcase turns the spotlight on a particular Victorian wine region, culminating in an annual Victoria-wide exhibition of the “Best of the Best” at the Fed Square Wine Awards.
