Mirrabooka Square is partnering with the City of Stirling to bring the message about sustainable food to local people through a free artistic workshop on Saturday September 22, 2012.

Artist Sheryl Chant will taking visitors to the Centre on a ‘Journey of Food’ by creating artwork from fused plastic shopping bags.

unique project will celebrate diversity and sustainability while reusing the common waste product plastic shopping bags. Shoppers of all ages are invited to bring their excess plastic shopping bags
along to the workshop so that they can be cut up into shapes reflecting the themes of growing food, shopping, cooking
 and waste.

The Journey of Food workshop is part of Mirrabooka Square’s campaign to promote the benefits of eating fresh, seasonal and locally grown produce.

The free Journey of Food workshop requires no registration and will be held on Saturday 22 September from 10am to 12pm in the Centre Court. People are reminded to bring their used plastic shopping bags.
